28/06/10 - Dispute resolution swoop just the tip of the Berg for Manchester law firm
Manchester-based commercial law firm, Berg Legal, has attracted one of the city’s most respected dispute resolution teams, signalling its intent to increase market share at a time of volatility in the regional marketplace.
Lee Dunnill joins Berg Legal as partner and head of dispute resolution, bringing with him associate, Karen Unsworth, and assistant, Lydia Lancaster and a substantial following..
Dunnill brings an exceptional track record in creating and developing successful dispute resolution departments. Previously, he built the dispute resolution and litigation department at Pinsent Masons, where he was one of the founding partners of the Manchester office.
As well as standalone dispute resolution and litigation work, Dunnill is renowned for providing technical analysis in relation to the contentious issues in major cross-border corporate transactions. Lee has in the recent past advised on the pre-pack of former Oasis, Warehouse and Karen Millen parent company, Mosaic Fashions.
Reuben Berg, senior partner at Berg Legal, said: “We are delighted to have attracted a dispute resolution team of the calibre and reputation that Lee, Karen and Lydia bring. Lee in particular is well known in the corporate marketplace for his exceptional business acumen and track record of success.
“At a time when some large players are crumbling due to their onerous costs and outdated practices, the market is crying out for stability and advisors with intellectual experience, creativity and imagination. Lee’s appointment will further strengthen Berg Legal’s distinctive offering to the corporate market.”
Lee Dunnill added: “With 30 years’ experience of navigating and building profile in a variety of markets, Berg Legal is known for its entrepreneurial approach and illustrious client base. I look forward to working alongside Reuben Berg, Alison Loveday and the other partners to build on the reputation and position of Berg Legal as a leading independent commercial law firm.”
These appointments at Berg follow other recent appointments those of property partner, Ross Wellman, and employment partner, Nigel Crebbin, who joined in April 2010 from Halliwells and Gorvins Solicitors respectively.
